What Do We Do?

  • President

    - Oversee general club activities, including preparations of materials for the meetings (PPTs, announcements, QR codes), tabling events (provide promotion materials), resolve external and internal issues as detected.

    - Connect with potential guest speakers and schedule times for meetings in a timely manner, inform students of potential internship opportunities, provide guest speakers contact information for connections and networking opportunities.

    - Oversee E-point system, notify students and executive board of any changes in system, communicate how the system works, track attendance through the points, and report to UBC.

    - Set a meeting schedule for club’s meeting dates and request the event space for club meetings before the semester begins.

    - Regularly check in with executive board members on their progress, identify and correct any internal and external issues, provide feedback on their efforts, coordinate accommodations if needed.

    - Aid the VP with the fund and analyst team management in terms of material preparation, research, and supervisor communication.

    - Be active during the club meetings, lead the discussions, engage students in activities, help students with questions, comments, concerns that they express.

  • Vice President

    - Aid the president in case of their absence with organizational, operational, and managerial tasks. Work as a team to ensure success of the club, student engagement, and team management. See above.

    - Oversee the Jayhawk Investment Fund progress, communicate with club’s supervisor on potential additions/ liquidations of the stocks, communicate to the rest of the exec and the club members on any changes in the fund.

    - Oversee the analyst team, prepare the pitch decks, do analysis, coordinate teamwork and meeting dates/times to complete the pitch decks for the meetings.

    - Present pitch deck alongside with the analyst team members during the meetings, answer club members questions, be ready to expand on topics, current news, and events regarding the stock and the company.

  • Treasurer

    - Keep a club’s debit card and maintain records of all transactions throughout the semester, each activity labeled, reporting monthly balance to President and VP.

    - Communicate with the UBC Rep on the forecasted amount of funding to be incoming from the UBC and deposit checks into the bank account, creating a budget record for the semester.

    - Research potential trip opportunities for club execs and students in and out of state, communicate with the potential organizations/companies on networking opportunities on company’s cite and estimate the funding needed for the trips.

    - Communicate with UBC Treasurer about the funding opportunities based on the club’s plans on doing trips to other states/cities, providing required funding numbers in respect to current prices and rates for accommodations.

    - Research and execute fundraising opportunities outside of UBC given funding to increase club’s budgets to sponsor the trips and outside activities (social or business).

    - Order food before the meetings based on the estimate of meeting attendance, communicate with the couriers and making sure food is set up for students and the exec after the meetings.

    - Approve incoming requests from executive members on operating expenses, such as promotional materials, merchandise, tabling props, and other appropriate expenses.

  • Outreach and Media

    - Be logged into social media accounts (Instagram) and RCIC Gmail, reply to any DM’s regarding outreach opportunities from KU and external organizations, other students, other business/nonbusiness clubs, plan on possible collaborations between organizations.

    - Reach out to business clubs and schools negotiating collaborations, fairs, joint events and meetings, plan, and coordinate dates either on or outside of RCIC schedule.

    - Create promotional posters for social media (Instagram, Group Me), including posts indicating any announcements and updates on club’s meetings, paper flyers for bulletin boards in Cap Fed in case of a big event.

    - Communicate with IT to put big screen announcements in a timely manner (a week before the event).

    - Update RCIC website, including uploading meeting slides, calendar events, “About” section about the new executive members, and overall miscellaneous items that need attention.

    - Prepare promotional materials for external meetings and collaborations with pother organizations, supply team with tabling event props such as posters, business cards, tablecloths, signs, and pictures. If unsure, communicate with President about what props are necessary for the event.

  • Analyst Team

    - A member of a team helps building pitch decks, do research and analysis on companies, pitch the deck during the meetings, being ready to answer questions from the club members.

    - Put together Power Point slides with a professional looking pitch deck, coordinating colors and style to a chosen company, include appropriate and relevant data on the company, such as stock performance snapshots, pie charts, and other diagrams where needed.

    - Oversee the investment competition during the meetings, track the club members’ progress through an excel spreadsheet or any other way that will give results on who won the competition. Report the results to the VP and the President and include the results in the general Power Point.

    - Work as a team to put together a monthly newsletter containing relevant market/stock information, updated on the Jayhawk Investment Fund, opinion leaders of the month, any information team decides should be on the newsletter.

  • UBC Rep

    - Attend the UBC General Assembly meetings and report all changes, announcements, meeting dates, maintain records of all meeting minutes from all GA meetings.

    - Fill out new event request form on the Suitable website for every club meeting scheduled and upload the provided QR code to that week’s general Power Point presentation for e-Points. Notify the president when finished.

    - Organize the existing and incoming documents in the RCIC google drive (ask President and VP on deleting and archiving), maintain an attendance spreadsheet for each meeting (through attendance QR/ E-point QR), delete spam emails/messages from the RCIC Gmail inbox.

  • General Responsibilities

    - Attend and participate in every club meeting, engage students, do throughout research on topics presented during meetings, answer questions.

    - Put together general Power Point presentation that includes meeting topic materials, making sure all the formatting and information is correct and prepared/edited in a right way.

    - Communicate with executive members on any updates/announcements for the team and respond to messages in Teams exec chat in a timely manner.

    - If available, attend tabling events, external events for other clubs and organizations, pitch the club to students (recruitment).

    - Have access to google drive with all documents, tracking sheets, log in passwords, be logged in to the accounts required by the executive duties and responsibilities description.

    - Upload all documents from executive operations to Teams files (create folders as you need) and maintain clean and updated records.

    - Be present at tabling events, prepare props and promotional materials provided by Outreach & Media Manager for tabling events, be ready to talk to a big number of students and pitch a club to them.

    - Any executive member can be on the analyst team besides their regular exec responsibilities if they want to.
